Hi Justin
Just thought I’d drop you a quick email and let you know the pups are doing great. They chase the rest of my older Setters around, with everyone getting along just fine. The pups have even gotten a couple quick nips of milk off the mama Setter (her pups 4 weeks old now). She doesn’t mind and just stands there until I call her. She’s a really good mama and wants to tend these pups to (I don’t let her though). I walk the pups a couple hundred yards, 3 to 5 times a day. I’m really impressed with them! They really keep to the front and are very bold. If they hang to the side or behind, I call and they usually quickly come to the front again. That trait seems to come natural to them, so I’m assuming strong genetics for that. This bodes well for future running in trials, especially cover dog trials. I’m going to say you have a litter that you should be proud of, and I’m thinking they’re going to be doing real well in the future. I’m trying to get some pictures of them coming down their ramp, to send to you. But the older dogs let them know when I’m walking up, and they are down the ramp before I can get close enough with the camera on.
Thanks again for the 2 pups. Keep in touch.
